     Hi there!  My name is Grace, aka The Brunette in the Kitchen, and I'm so glad you found my page!  I created this blog to have a place to share my kitchen adventures.  I should probably tell you a little bit about myself.

    First things first: I love to bake.  Like, love it, love it.  The kitchen is my therapy, my haven.  I can come home from a long day of work or stress, grab the mixing bowls and the flour and turn on some music and just decompress!

    I am a country gal currently living in the middle of a small town, and trying desperately to get back to the beloved countryside I am so fond of.  But for now, I bake.  I live in a townhouse with my lovely mother and my small dog named Toast, and I bake my heart out.  I have a menagerie of house plants scattered around the house, as many roses, herbs and tomatoes as will fit into pots and a small raised garden bed on the back patio, and a bird feeder that stays busy 24/7.  Life is good!

    

    Scones are really my passion.  You will likely see a lot of them featured on here!  I've always had a love for Europe, particularly Ireland, England, and Scotland, and their culture and cuisine has always been fascinating to me.  I spent a good deal of time working in an Irish coffee shop, where I made many traditional Irish, Scottish, and British foods such as Scones, Bridies, Lemon Curd, Welsh Cakes, Shortbread, and many, many other delicious things.  Baking knows no bounds!

    Welcome to my cozy little corner of the world, where food is always made from the heart, coffee is always being drunk, and music is always playing.

    Be prepared to see a lot of yummy food, discover scrummy recipes, and indulge in the delights of a happy baker's world!
